Prayer Up: Ritual Alarm · Last updated 2 October 2026
Prayer Up is built so that your practice stays yours. This policy describes what the app does with information, in plain language.
The short version
Prayer Up provides personal prayer and reflection without a separate Prayer Up account. Optional Fellowship uses your Apple Account in iCloud. Optional subscriptions use Apple and RevenueCat.
What stays on your device
Alarms, preferences, practice history, intentions, hopes, selected photos, typed or handwritten journey notes and saved passages are stored on your device. Private hope photos and journal notes are not automatically included in Fellowship updates or RevenueCat events. Device backups follow your settings and Apple's policies. If you export or share something, the receiving app or person may keep their own copy.
Fellowship (optional)
Connecting with someone enables selected practice information to be shared through Apple CloudKit with accepted participants. This includes display names, kept-day or practice status, streaks, encouragement, deliberately shared prayers, practice invitations and replies, and relevant session updates. Private circles also share membership, circle names, gathering names and times, and attendance. These records are associated with participating iCloud identities. Prayer Up does not request your address book. Shared practice updates can occur while you remain connected; they are not limited to prayers you individually send. Notification previews follow your device settings. A locally queued update is not confirmation that another person received or read it.
Subscriptions and analytics
Apple processes purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information associated with its app user identifier to verify Premium access and provide subscription analytics. Prayer Up also records paywall-screen impressions, including paywall and offering identifiers, through RevenueCat. The app does not add private hopes, photos, journal notes or Fellowship messages to those events. No advertising SDK or cross-app advertising tracking is implemented in this release. Apple and RevenueCat process information under their respective policies: Apple's privacy policy and RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Motion and permissions
Motion sensing for the raise gesture is processed on your device. Visible controls are available for completing practice. Scheduled alarms, notifications and photo selection use the permissions or system controls shown by iOS. Read-aloud uses Apple device speech. Live AI scene generation is disabled in this release.
Leaving, blocking and deletion
Fellowship owners and participants have different options to end sharing, leave or remove a member. Blocking applies local protection and requests shared-access cleanup; iCloud cleanup can remain pending until confirmed and retried. These actions do not erase personal history or copies another person already saved. Unblocking does not automatically restore membership or resend old updates.
Deleting the app removes its local app data but does not cancel subscriptions or erase device backups, Apple/RevenueCat records, or other participants' independent copies. Leaving Fellowship also does not cancel a subscription. Manage subscriptions in Apple Settings. Contact us for help with privacy or shared-data removal requests; requests involving another provider must follow that provider's process.
Support and reports
The reporting screen lets you prepare a Mail draft or copy text. Nothing is automatically sent. You choose whether to send and what information to include. If you email us, we receive the information you send and the sender information provided by your email service, for responding to your request or concern. Please do not send passwords or information you do not want support to receive.
Children
Prayer Up is not directed at children under 13. The optional subscription and sharing data flows described above still apply.
Changes
We will update this policy when these practices change.
